Douglas K. Prescott received his Master of Education Degree with a specialization in School Administration, his Principal’s Certificate, his Bachelor of Education Degree and his New Brunswick Teaching License all in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. Mr. Prescott has also received certification from the National Association for Secondary School Administrators (NASSP) a program for assessing future principals and vice-principals; he holds advanced training Certification from the PLC Coaching Academy in establishing Professional Learning Communities and holds Level 2 Threat Assessment Certification.

Mr. Prescott has worked in the education field for more than 4 decades— in schools in Canada, Bangladesh and China. His experience includes teaching P.E, Health, History, Biology, English; Counselor; Athletic Director; Vice-Principal; Principal; Founding Head of School (Dhaka, Bangladesh), Head of School and Superintendent. He has a great depth of understanding with the Canadian and World International Baccalaureate curriculums with professional certification in IB PYP, MYP and DP programs; and with AP programs.

Mr. Prescott is a proud member of the C21 CEO Academy in Canada-a Pan-Canadian professional network of school system superintendents committed to setting Canadian standards for 21st century learning, innovation and technology.

Mr. Prescott has been a keynote presenter at schools and school districts across Beijing and China; speaking at international conferences in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and as well in Canada. He regularly hosts groups of local teachers and principals from across Beijing for professional development and motivational talks. These talks and workshops focus on such topics as—How to Become a Great Teacher; 21^st Century Skills; Ways to Become a Resilient Leader and more.

Mr. Prescott was presented with “The Certificate of Great Minds Gather in Beijing” -High-End Foreign Experts Award. Mr. Prescott was recognized for his achievement in “Top 10 Most Influential Headmasters in International Schools” held by Newschool Insight Media in 2016. In August 2020, CISB was selected by the Canada China Business Council as the “Silver Award” winner in the Education Excellence Award Category at the 2020 Business AGM. In 2020, Mr. Prescott was selected by KingLead as “Leading Principal” -2020 China International School Brand Value Top 100 and as the “Well-known Principal” in the 2020 China International School Competitiveness Ranking by KingLead.

Mr. Prescott is the Head of School at the Canadian International School of Beijing and the Canadian International School of Shenyang. While he is at the Main Campus in Beijing, he provides support and consultancy on a regular basis to CISS.
