In order to enrich the curriculum of the ECA (International Club ECA), Dr. Francisco, the vice principal, together with the resident plant expert of our school, Ms. Beryl, led the students of ECA to the CISS garden, and planted the seeds of basil, pepper, tomato and other vegetables in the experimental field of the school.

During the class, the teacher said: "There are different stages of development for plant growth, and today we will learn the first stage: germination of seeds."

The teacher asked, "How do we wake up these sleeping seeds?

The students scrambled to answer: Water.

Then, the teacher asked: "Is there anything else?"

Inspired by the teacher, the students learned that in addition to water, seeds also need adequate oxygen, appropriate temperature, and a certain amount of light. They also learned that some plants need light when they germinate, while others need to avoid light.

At CISS, children sow hope and then reap joy.During this 4-6-weeks of ECA, the students can not only strengthen their English and health, but also have more opportunities to build a harmonious relationship with nature and learn to be grateful for life and the earth.
