With the development and spread of "food education course" in the world, it is also favored by more and more educators. Based on reference of food education spirit, CISS introduces students to the Chinese traditional festivals, learning to make and tasting traditional food during Chinese classes. In the process of making, students learn and approach the mysterious Oriental culture, comprehensively understand Chinese culture, improve their enthusiasm for Chinese learning, and trained to be patient, meticulous and cooperative in the process of making food!

Monday  Chinese New Year with green bean cakes

We’ve learned Chinese New Year related traditional customs and origin, tasted the traditional Chinese dumplings! The students said that German dumplings are as delicious as Chinese ones.

  

After dog days hit us, the weather gets hotter and hotter, how can one do without green bean cake, a common Chinese dessert? Although it is a common snack, when it comes to learning, the students found out that there were so many steps! Making Chinese dim sum requires patience and care!

Tuesday  The Lantern Festival -- glutinous rice balls with fruit

From the traditional Chinese festival of the Lantern Festival to the related customs, and then to the origin and making of glutinous rice balls! Students carefully rubbed each small ball, very patient, after the completion of the making, ate a bowl of handmade glutinous rice balls with fruit by themselves! Each face was full of happiness!

  

Wednesday  Green rice ball that no one dare to eat  

After learning the origin, customs and traditional food green rice ball of the Cold Food Festival, the students were curious about this green traditional food, but they did not dare to try it. Japanese student Kotaro, kept telling the students: This is really delicious, you must try it!

  

Thursday  Peach jelly, even raw materials are delicious too!

How can learning the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival lack zongzi! Since the Dragon Boat Festival has just passed, the material was not easy to get, so we did paper folding by hand! Come and see our paper folded zongzi!

Hot weather, white peach is in season, it is a good time to make white peach jelly! During the making process, the students tasted the sweet white peach; seriously organizing plates to freeze, quietly waiting for the jelly come into shape! In the moment of eating in the mouth, the students praised the deliciousness one after another! It’s even more delicious since they were made by themselves!

  

  

Friday  Qixi Festival’s(Chinese Valentine’s Day) Qiqiaoguo is yummy with jam on it

After learning the origin of Qixi( Chinese Valentine's Day), the students knew that the Chinese Valentine's Day also had such a beautiful and sad love story! They also admired the weaver girl who had a pair of skillful hands. So let's make Qiqiaoguo together to hope that we would also have a pair of skillful hands! Students were making with care and were the happiest when they were eating their own handmade food. As they ate, they were talking about their favorite food of the home countries and their favorite Chinese food.
