Philippe Lalonde

I am delighted to teach at CISS, especially as part of the Bridging Program. I have been working in education for 15 years and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education specializing in TESOL. In Canada, I worked as an educational sign language interpreter for deaf students at a vocational college. Here in China, I worked as an ESL teacher and a Grade 3 homeroom teacher at an IPC school, and I also helped high school students prepare for the TOEFL and IELTS tests. My professional background and experience in learning other languages, such as Chinese, American Sign Language, and Quebec Sign Language, helped me become a more empathetic and patient teacher for additional language learners. I strive to create a positive physical, psychological and emotional learning environment where students feel comfortable and engaged.
