我们准备好了!

This Spring Festival has been very special and unforgettable in an unexpected way, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 that struck the whole country in the year 2020.On the second day of lunar January, the Canadian International School of Shenyang(CISS) epidemic prevention team led by Executive Director was set up in time. The epidemic prevention team has been staying on campus the whole time playing a key role in supporting the foreign teachers and their families and keeping the campus safe from the coronavirus.

Learning never stops at CISS even during the school closure. The quality online leaning lessons has been offered by all the CISS teachers via a variety of platforms since 5th February, which makes it possible for our students to have IB education even when staying at home.

As the situation is getting better and better, the reopening date of the school has been announced by authorities in lots of cities including Shenyang. CISS has been ready to welcome our students to return to school.

Faculty Members

In Shenyang, CISS is only international school whose full faculty are ready for school resumption. Most of the CISS foreign teachers have been staying on campus at all times and the rest four teachers has finished the 14-day quarantine by arriving on campus by 24th February.

Cleaning and Disinfection

Executive Director of CISS, together with some of the staff, made her return to the campus on 26th January (the second day of lunar January) to set up the epidemic prevention team. They worked out a thorough plan and worked tirelessly to clean and disinfect the campus on a regular basis. Moreover, they have been disinfecting the frequently touched surfaces of items several times a day.

The designated bins for the wasted masks have been installed on various locations on CISS campus and these bins are cleaned and disinfected regularly. The medical quarantine rooms have also been set up in both teaching and administration buildings in case of any emergencies.

The cleaning team cleaned and disinfected all detachable knitting items in the classrooms for the school reopening.

All the parcels delivered to campus are kept in designated shelf and disinfected before entering the campus property to prevent potential contagion.

Prevention Training

Epidemic prevention related posters and guidelines have been posted in key spots on campus.

CISS school doctor offered relevant training to all the supporting staff. She detailed the procedure for temperature monitoring, disinfectant proportional allocation and personal hygiene and epidemic prevention knowledge. She also demonstrated the proper way to use all the disinfecting tools In addition, the epidemic prevention bureau also sent the specialist to CISS to conduct the onsite prevention training on the people living on campus.

Closed-off Management

A strict access policy has been enforced at CISS. Everyone enters and exits has to have the body temperature taken and finish the registration and disinfection including the surface of hands, cloths and shoes bottoms.

Epidemic Prevention Supplies

During the early outbreak, the COVID-19 prevention goods were in short supply. However, to ensure the adequate supplies, all the staff of CISS and Executive Director tried all means to purchase the necessary resources. They even went to almost all the local pharmacies and supermarkets to search for marks, hand sanitizer, protection suit and gloves just to stock up on enough supplies to make CISS prepared for resumption. What’s worth mentioning is that upon learning the situation ,several of our parents made the donation of masks and hand sanitizer to CISS in time. We are very grateful to have such supporting parents.

CISS has made everything ready for school resumption. We believe that we will win the battle against the coronavirus and we will keep our campus safe from it. We look forward to having our students return to campus soon!
